Insight into Programs Delivered

  • Year 9 end-of-year activity day with 100 students using the High Challenge Ropes course, Mountain Bike Biding and Art in Nature

  • Weekly Bush Adventure Therapy program with primary school children

  • Learn to Ride cycling classes (playgroup, primary, secondary and adults)

  • Mt Atkinson Art Group who meets weekly

  • Youth Advocacy and Human Rights training

  • Refugee Education Support Programs (playgroup, primary and secondary) with Centre for Multicultural Youth (CMY)

  • Field Archery

  • Youth In Partnership - weekly Aboriginal youth cultural program with
    Kirrip Aboriginal Corporation

Resources Available to Support Program Delivery

  • Low Challenge Ropes course including a variety of balance beams, slacklines, large rocks to climb over and small platforms nestled through trees and open space

  • High Challenge Ropes course which offers individual elements, the first level standing 7m above the ground and the second level at 11m. Other elements include the Possum Pull, Crate Stack, Giants Ladder and Frog Ponds, all focusing on developing teamwork skills. Finally the element known as the Leap of Faith is often used as a peak experience of the entire High Challenge course. 

  • Approximately 15km of beginner/intermediate Mountain Bike/Trail Running tracks

  • Fleet of bikes ranging from pedal bikes for 2-year-olds through to adult sized mountain bikes

  • Archery equipment for children and adults 

  • Hut building

  • Bush cooking and indoor cooking

  • Access to 500 hectares of open grasslands surrounding the Mt Atkinson housing estate

  • Direct links to Edmund Rice International and the United Nations, for advocacy, lobbying and reporting on Human Rights concerns in Australia
